Privacy Policy

Overview

Battlebook (“the Game”) is an ink-duel experience available as a website and as a mobile app (iOS and Android). This policy covers both. We designed Battlebook to work without accounts and without sending your gameplay to our servers.

No account required

You do not need to create an account, sign in, or provide an email address to play on the web or in the app. Player names you type during setup stay on your device for that session.

Information stored on your device

The Game may save preferences locally so settings persist between visits or launches, for example:

  • Web: browser local storage (sound on/off, theme preference).
  • App: on-device storage such as AsyncStorage (sound on/off, theme preference).

This data stays on your device and is used only to remember your settings. It is not uploaded as part of core gameplay.

Gameplay data

Match state (names, stickman placements, ink marks, scores) lives in memory during a session. Closing the browser tab or force-quitting the app ends the match unless you continue in the same running session. We do not operate a Battlebook cloud that stores your matches.

Audio

Sound effects play locally on your device. On the web, audio typically starts after you interact with the page (browser autoplay rules). Audio files ship with the site or app assets; they are not streamed from a third-party music service.

Analytics, ads & third parties

This Battlebook build does not intentionally embed third-party advertising SDKs or gameplay analytics SDKs. Hosting, CDN, font, or app-store infrastructure may still log standard technical data (such as IP address, device type, or user agent) when serving the website or distributing the app. That processing is governed by those providers’ policies (for example your host, Apple App Store, or Google Play).

App store platforms

When you download or update the iOS or Android app, Apple or Google may collect information under their own privacy policies (purchase/download history, crash reports you opt into, etc.). Battlebook itself does not add a separate account system on top of that.

Children

The Game does not knowingly collect personal information from children on the website or in the app. If you believe a child has provided personal data through a contact channel, please contact us so we can delete it.

Your choices

  • Disable game sound in Hub / Pause settings (web and app).
  • Web: clear this site’s data in your browser to remove locally stored preferences.
  • App: clear the app’s storage or uninstall the app to remove locally stored preferences.

Changes

We may update this policy as the website or app evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
